Falchion's Company

A city governed by wizards can still have an underbelly that is governed by crime lords. Out-of-work mercenary Falchion arrives in the city of Groft and signs on with the boss of the organized crime outfit. But when Falchion’s distaste for the work angers the boss, his only move is to become the boss himself.

Falchion, now captain of his own outfit, faces not only opposing mercenary companies just as deadly as his own, and the magical threats posed by psychotic wizards, but also stingy, second-guessing employers. When his employers realize their allies in a three-party war are using them as a cat’s-paw and will likely turn on them, Falchion finds himself taking on two opposing armies, twin-sorceresses driven by religious fanaticism, and a mercenary commander holding a personal grudge.

Captain Falchion of Falchion’s Company has reached the pinnacle of the mercenary profession. But that only means the jobs become more challenging. When the Wagon Circle threatens invasion, Falchion finds himself leading the defense. Fighting a nomadic army of armored wagons is hard enough, but the Wagon Circle possesses a secret weapon: griffons.
