• Learning Through Challenges
    Aug 8 2024

For this episode, we're shifting gears and taking a more personal approach.

Turning the tables, Coach Scott and Coach Michelle take a turn as guests on the podcast, to talk about their personal journeys through this year so far - both experiencing different challenges that have forced them to change, adjust and grow.

Scott and Michelle were both very open on some very personal subjects, so that we can learn and relate. We discuss the onset of illness, injury, and burnout/overtraining, the process of identifying it, treating it, finding your way back, the non-linear trajectory of returning to training, how goals and plans might change, and understanding that its ok to change your mind!

We hope you enjoy and find this episode both informative and helpful.

  • Yo-yo'ing the C&O Canal with Brad Distad
    Jul 4 2024

A journey of 369 miles begins with a single step.

In June 2024, Brad Distad set out to try something no one in recorded history had done before: a "yo-yo" of the historic C&O Canal. Running 184.5 miles from "mile 0" in Washington D.C. to trails' end in Cumberland, Maryland... and then turning around and running back.

8 days, 9 hours, and 58 minutes later, he successfully completed that journey!

Brad is a husband, father of 6, a teacher, a mentor, an experienced ultra-runner, a More Miles athlete, and so much more. In this episode we get to know him, his inspiration for this challenge, what it took, and what he learned through the experience.

Absolutely everyone can find a piece of wisdom and inspiration in his story - we hope you enjoy!
