Rosie collapsed on the Seattle sidewalk, alone, cold, and drenched in seawater. Her head ached. Nothing seemed right. And her memory was little more than a fuzzy feeling of foreboding. She knows two things…One: She’s on an important mission. Two: Never mix with the locals. Injured and weary, Rosie knows that if she doesn’t get help, she may not be able to piece together the reason she's in 2018. Her gut says it’s vital. Rosie’s teenage grandmother is wealthy, privileged, and might have the means to help them travel back home to the future. But finding her grandmother isn’t easy, especially since Carlos thinks they’re being followed.

Rosie’s on a mission to save humanity. Carlos thinks he can help, but it requires introducing Rosie to Fast Eddie, a ruthless criminal with connections. Carlos blames Eddie for destroying his past. Rosie sees Eddie as the key to her future. Meanwhile, David and Ellen continue to hunt for Rosie using high-tech methods and lowlife tactics. David is willing to break any moral code to find his daughter.

Embracing her destiny will cost her everything. With The Collapse bearing down on her, Rosie is more lost than ever. She needs to prepare for the survival of The Towers. But how can she do that with no money and no team? Broke and forlorn, she searches for help in a dangerous place.
