We are Sport and Exercise Psychology students from the German Sports Universtity Cologne (GSU) and we want to make our matter of heart – sport psychology - more publicly accessible. No matter if you’re a Data Scientist, Hobby Golfer, Quidditch World Champion or professional athlete. This is for everyone. We want to communicate topics and research in Sportpsychology in an understandable way. We want to introduce you to common problems and phenomena in Sportpsychology but also recommend evidence based practices and techniques from Sportpsychology and how they can help you in your everyday life or career. Basically, we want to pass on knowledge, simply explained.

    Today's episode is all about the drop-out after injuries and the accompanying transition into the life after professional sport. Unfortunately, an injury can terminate the end of a career and athletes must deal with the difficult situation of a drop-out. Important aspects to consider at this point are challenges while transitioning, resources that help athletes during drop-outs, and the preparation for the step into the life after. For the next 35 minutes we are going to give you insights into these topics and therefore talk with the former Bundesliga player Lily Reimöller (19) who is in transition phase after her knee injury in May 2024.
