I am joined today by Emi Doumerc, a digital engagement manager at the Oregon Alliance for Gun Safety and a mental health advocate. We talk about how the holiday season impacts mental health, gun safety during holiday gatherings, and the need for open and honest discussions about grief and loss. We also discuss the link between gun safety and suicide prevention, responsible gun ownership, and the prevention of unintentional gun deaths, which are among the most common causes of death from guns in society.
Having lived through gun violence herself, Emi's commitment to promoting positive change has become a part of her everyday life, from uncomfortable conversations before playdates to helping pass new gun safety laws here in Oregon. With Emi's powerful stories and commitment to positive change, you'll be inspired and ready to join the discussion.
This holiday season, what can you do to keep yourself and your family safe from gun violence?

Who is the Oregon Alliance for Gun Safety? Founded in 2013, the Oregon Alliance for Gun Safety works to end gun violence in our communities. Through collaboration with experts, civic leaders, and community members, we advance evidence-based solutions to the crisis of gun violence. We create innovative policies, advocate for changes in laws, and promote community education to reduce gun violence.
In the 2022 election, we mounted an aggressive campaign in support of Measure 114, and we continue to fight for its effective and equitable implementation.
Join our fight today for common-sense gun laws that will save lives.
