• RTHB approach to Christmas
    Sep 23 2024

    Send us a text

With Christmas messaging and decorations in our wake, months before the time, we thought it might be a good time to chat about some alternative approaches to presents, food and the day itself.
So often, we do as we always have, often unaware of why we do what we do, and that what we are doing is not bringing the 'joy' or 'happiness' intended.
In fact in many cases it is much the opposite because of the impact it has on us financially, emotionally and in other ways.
Like you, we have begun to wake up to question our why, and arrived at some alternatives that we now bring to our lives.
Here we share some possible alternatives that we have experienced in relation to the festive season, that reflect many of the principles of the Real Time Heart-Based approach.
If you are interested in this RTHB approach to living your life more authentically, to more freely make choices that lead to your happiness, wellness and wellbeing, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Go with the flow? Is that really the go?
    Sep 13 2024

In this podcast we take a deeper dive into the phrase ‘go with flow’. While we often associate it as a positive approach, we would question if that is the whole story.
This is one of the phrases that we term ‘false friends’, which on the surface seems the thing to aspire to, however when you break it down, can become a trap, where you easily lose yourself and what is important to you.
Heart-Based living, is about noticing and choosing different actions when things don't feel good for you or they take you away from your true wants, and what matters to you.
It is a unique way to discover, explore and bring the whole of you to more moments, and feel the gains as you do.
What are your thoughts about this phrase?

  • Dealing with anger
    Aug 14 2024

    Send us a text

With terror warnings being felt around the world, we took this time to explore the ripple effect of unresolved anger, and the way groups with common sentiment on issues, come together with a shared voice.

We are seeing how biases and misinformation are closing our hearts and minds to explore and broaden our understanding towards what can be helpful rather than harmful.

It feels that the byproduct of our busy way of life, is lessening the time needed to address our emotional needs, leaving unresolved matters, ‘piling up’.

Here we share how we can personally recognise within ourselves, where we sit in our ability to ‘see’ what we are normally ‘blind’ to.

Feel free to leave your thoughts.

With so much happening around us and at a fast pace, it is no wonder we are hardly have the time and awareness to find clarity in it all.

The concern is that when we act from this space, we may be supporting things that are not benefiting us, in fact may be harmful.

So how do we do it differently?

How do we have the discernment in moments when it matters? To sense that something doesn’t seem or feel right for you?

In this podcast, we explore some possibilities that may support you, as we all begin to navigate the world as it is unfolding.

  • Trying harder - is it good for you?
    Jun 3 2024

We are often very unaware of the amount of energy, time and attention we are giving to things. It is often due to us wanting to try harder to achieve an outcome or improve in some way.

Often the very act of trying harder, can work against us, and what we want to gain is lost. It may be part of the reason for feeling like we have been unsuccessful.

Nigel and Tricia share some heart based living perspectives that may be helpful if you are finding yourself in this cycle and way of life.

They recognise the challenges with breaking some of our usual patterns of behaviours, and bring alternatives that may be helpful for anyone at any time.

Feel free to leave us a comment or question. We’d love to hear from you and bring support that is helpful.

  • Why can't I lose weight?
    May 28 2024

    Send us a text

Are we asking the appropriate question? Is it about losing weight, or is it about how to make choices that lead to us feeling better?

After all, weight is not always indicative of the state of health. We noticed on our last visit to Japan, that on the whole, Japanese people were not overweight. When we asked about the level of diabetes and other lifestyle diseases, they were still quite significant.

In this podcast, we chat about the shift from ‘trying’ to lose weight, to aiming to feel more energised, well, mentally clear, and happy. How the focus can change from chasing and feeling successful or unsuccessful, to discovering and learning more about yourself and what works for your unique self.

You may find that when you spend more moments choosing foods and practices that work best for you, that you arrive at the weight that is best for you, given your current whole situation.

How do you feel about this approach? Let’s talk about it and see if together we can explore more things that may be helpful for you in living life well.

  • How do you achieve results without over controlling?
    May 6 2024

    Send us a text

How often do the rules that have been set feel controlling and constraining. We live in times when accountability and certainty is at the forefront, which is leading many organisations, creating more and more policies and procedures, that are time consuming and costly to uphold. What’s more, it often feels quite cold and harsh.

Is there another way to achieve quality outcomes, without such measures?

Nigel and Tricia look at the impact of a more human approach and how it affects the environment and the way people feel. They provide some alternative perspectives that show how with less structure, there are ways for positive involvement. How do you feel about the topic? We are happy to share time with you, to support you in your business or organisation if this is something you can see, will make a difference.

  • What do you do when facing a dilemma?
    Apr 29 2024

    Send us a text

This week we drew from an ABC program, Pain Factory (4 Corners) that shared some insights about back pain, surgical interventions, recovery and some of the conflicts of interests involved.

We shared the dilemmas associated with conflicted interest advice vs self guided choice, and what to look for as we make choices such as surgery vs natural healing.

We hope to highlight the importance of you becoming an active partner in your choices, by noticing and considering yourself in it all.
