About Sylvia Walters Drake Sylvia Walters Drake is a North Carolina native who spent her career working in public relations and marketing, and most recently as college Professor. She has lived in a variety of places from New York City to rural South Dakota. She holds an MPS in communication from Cornell University and enjoys working as an author, speaker, coach and trainer in communication. Her life was turned upside down by the sudden and unexpected death of husband Gary after 33 years of marriage and two children. She shares her journey with those who are interested. She is passionate about helping others improve their personal lives as they work through grief. Sylvia continues to enjoy cross county and international travel, morning coffee, camping, trail riding and spending precious time with family and friends. She lives on a small farm in North Carolina with Arabian horse Anastasia, golden retriever Sandie, black kitty, Midnight and the spirit of her late husband, Gary.
