A young aquaponicist revolutionizing how to think about food, education, and criminal justice. Thirteen years of hydroponics and water treatment experience. Skilled in wet chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology lab techniques, as well as technical skills involved in plant science and quality management. Co-founder and Executive Director of Blooming Health Farms. Blooming Health Farms is a 501c3 nonprofit aquaponics farm in Northern Colorado that helps and employs at-risk youth between the ages of 15 and 24. We get kids off the street by empowering them with job skills, STEM education, and mental health therapy in order to create the future leaders of our community. Currently lives in Greeley, Colorado. Resides as a Horticulture Advisor to Weld County Extension and pursuing an MSEng at Johns Hopkins in Systems Engineering. This book will help farmers adopt hydroponic feeding practices to grow animal fodder to save water, time, and improve their bottom line. Farmers are our best stewards and can be the change we wish to see in the world.   2. Who are the major influencers on your life and philosophy? My master gardener grandmother, veterinarian father, nurse mother, and deceased paramedic brother. I owe them my compassion for nature, life, and resilience through life's trials and tribulations. Personal influencers are JD and Tawnya Sawyer, Dr. Harry Ako, Ed Otsuji, Dr. Mark Merlin, April Williams, Julius Gutierrez, Noel Huber, Rachel von Bodungen, Jim Klein, Steven M. Biemer, and Dr. Judith Dahmann. Mentors from afar have been Luther Burbank, Robert C. Clarke, Dr. James Rakocy, Nikola Tesla, Mark Twain, PT Barnum, Albert Hofmann, Temple Grandin, Bruce Lee, Mary Kay, Napoleon Hill, R. Buckminister Fuller, Terence McKenna, Marie Curie, Howard Resh, Nikolai Vavilov, Norman Borlaug, Malcolm X, Dale Carnegie, and Alan Watts. 3. What other authors or books influenced you to write this one? James Sholto Douglas' Hydroponics because he pioneered a philosophy I like to call open-source hydroponics. Sholto took the technology to the people of India, and they built an industry. Then, Joel Salatin's Salad Bar Beef turned me into a grass guy. I like Joel's holistic view on agriculture and for being vocal about it. And no other has influenced me more than Think and Grow Rich. It should be required reading. Maude Barlow, Ralph Nader, Kossiakoff's Systems Engineering, Michael Pollan-Second Nature, Temple Grandin-Animals in Translation, Gary White & Matt Damon-The Worth of Water all helped shape the conversation and creative style. 4.
