Katie Duncan, MSN, CRNP, AGPCNP-BC, is a national board-certified nurse practitioner, educator, author & end-of-life coach. She is a practicing adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner. She is also the founder and CEO of Death Care Coach, an organization that aims to bring awareness to death and dying through private end of life support consultations and online training for families, death doulas and healthcare providers. Prior to launching Death Care Coach, Katie was a Professor of Nursing for bachelor’s and master’s degree students at Drexel University. In addition, Katie is the published author of two books, The Dying Process and Dear Caregiver, It’s Your Life Too and a member of the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance. Duncan has been working in healthcare for over 10 years in various roles and various specialties. She has spent time in hospital and intensive care settings. She has also worked in home-care and community settings, navigating her way into diverse homes while developing strong, trusting relationships with her patients and their families. In addition, Duncan has spent time in sub-acute rehab, assisted living, independent living, nursing home, and long-term care facilities. She continues to be an everlasting student continuously learning from those who allow her the privilege of being at their bedside, especially as they journey through their dying process. Katie’s vision is to remove the stigma of death and dying so people can live fully and die peacefully. She is dedicated to this mission by educating families and training individuals worldwide.
