Born and raised in Paramus, NJ, Ilyssa battled dyslexia and the untimely death of her mother, before picking up and following her dreams and moving to Hollywood, with no money, no connections and no clue. She worked her way up through the ranks by doing dishes on movie sets and running errands before making it to the executive ranks to become a sought-after producer and director. Straddling between two worlds of housewife and Hollywood director, Goodman will always stay grounded as she perpetually finds goo, yogurt or finger paint somewhere upon her fancy clothes, as she mingles with the rich and famous at the swankiest of Hollywood parties.
