A Sherlock Holmes and Elizabeth Bennet Mystery

Elizabeth Bennet first encounters Sherlock Holmes at a public ball, where both are intrigued by the other. Although she finds him to be abrasive and uncouth, she cannot help but admire his ability to discover secrets and scandals with nothing more than a glance. At a private ball, an officer is mysteriously murdered, his killer leaving little evidence behind. Holmes and Bennet join forces to solve the case, and as they dive deeper into the murder victim’s sordid past, they discover truths about those closest to them that they may have preferred to have kept hidden.

After the marriage of Jane and Mr. Bingley, Lizzie is invited to stay with them at their estate in London. She plans on meeting with Mr. Holmes again, in hopes of working another case. When she does call upon him in his London apartment, the two hit the ground running. Mr. Holmes has been retained as a private detective in the case of a murder and missing treasure. He is initially intrigued because the murder appears accidental and was ruled as such by the coroner. Lizzie must learn to balance her newly found love of solving crimes with her family’s and society’s expectations of her. She is expected to settle down and marry, but her love of detective work and observation has eliminated her own desire to marry, especially as she begins to realize that it is possible to make a living from doing such things as solving crimes.

Elizabeth Bennet and Sherlock Holmes begin to uncover some of London’s darkest kept secrets. Lizzie and Mr. Holmes are approached by an odd man with a scar above his right eye. He says he requires their help but refuses to tell them what he needs help with or who he is. Their curiosity gets the better of them, and they are swept into this man’s dark and mysterious world. He is the ring leader of a circus, and as they dive deeper into this seedy world of showmanship, Lizzie begins to feel danger creeping up behind her. She must not only face this danger, but she must do it alone.

Newly married Charlotte Lucas, now Mrs. Collins, has invited Lizzie to stay with her for a short while. At the same time, Lady Catherine de Bourgh is facing a mysterious problem that requires the utmost discretion. And who better to employ than Mr. Holmes?

Elizabeth’s mother has made it clear that she does not approve of her daughter’s escapades with Mr. Holmes. With her parents coming to stay in London, Elizabeth’s work might become more difficult. And then there is Mr. Holmes himself, who is realizing that the danger he and his enemies pose to Miss Elizabeth might be more than he’s willing to let her handle. With Mr. Holmes and Elizabeth on opposite sides of the argument, distraction comes in the form of the lovely young Miss Georgiana. A prize necklace of hers, given to her by her beloved elder brother, has gone missing.

As Holmes struggles to learn more about this mysterious Moriarty, Elizabeth worries that the man might not really exist, and that even if he does, he will only drive her friend into obsession and endless frustration. But help could come from unexpected sources, including possibly their latest client, the King of Bohemia. With a few possible scandals already hidden away, the king needs the assistance of Holmes and Bennet to deal with one last possible scandal before his impending political marriage. He needs the help of the detectives to retrieve an incriminating photo from Irene Adler.

Elizabeth is going home to Longbourn to visit her family - and will be asked to help out on a case entirely on her own. With Mr. Holmes only able to help through letters of correspondence, Elizabeth must rely upon all that she has learned from him in order to solve not only a theft but a murder most foul.

As Elizabeth’s confidence in her own abilities has grown, so has Holmes’ reliance on her. Now, he’s going to have to depend on her more than ever. An adversary they’ve been trying to pin down for some time is finally ready to make himself known - but this is someone who always seems to be one step ahead and delights in mocking Holmes.
