About this listen

Someone wants Elizabeth Bennet dead. It’s all Fitzwilliam Darcy’s fault.

Elizabeth Bennet wants the truth from Mr. Darcy. When she follows him from the ballroom to insist upon it, she becomes an unwilling witness to a scandalous scene. And for once, she cannot blame Mr. Darcy for disdaining his company, not even when he departs Netherfield in the middle of the ball.

When Darcy returns to London, he leaves both Miss Elizabeth Bennet and his growing infatuation for her behind--or so he believes. For soon, their paths cross again under the most painful of circumstances.

Elizabeth suddenly finds herself dependent upon Mr. Darcy. With the gradual unveiling of his character, she is surprised by a burgeoning affection for him. Will her heart survive their inevitable parting?

Thrust together out of necessity, Elizabeth and Darcy must discover the culprit responsible for their predicament before they are ruined...or worse.

Great story, but let Harry Frost read the whole book next time!

Excellent story with lots of intrigue. Loved Harry Frost’s narration as always, he is my absolute favourite narrator of P&P variations. I’m really baffled why the producers felt the need to insert a female narrator when Harry does such an outstanding job. It did detract from the overall performance. The female narrator had a pleasant voice, but her recorded parts were a bit flat in comparison and also a bit startling at times! But I did push past this and tried to just enjoy the story, which was very enjoyable.

An interesting storyline

I enjoyed the twists with the Bingleys in the beginning and had some nail bighting moments with Elizabeth. I was freaking out when she was almost found out in Darcys home. I really liked the 2 narrators it was like listening to an old style play on the radio.
I was happy to add this to my library.

Enjoyable

The overall story was enjoyable, but the switching between the two narrators was pretty annoying. It pulls you out of the story. Next time leave the narration up to Harry Frost.

Different storyline. Takes a lot of liberties though.

Story: the story was new and refreshing, however it may not be to your taste if you like a story that sticks to 19th Century accepted behaviours. This story breaks all of them.
Besides Bingley’s character assassination, the characters were written well. I love when C. Fitzwilliam’s older brother makes an appearance.
Overall a good story that kept me engaged. My only gripe was that the ending felt rushed and we didn’t get to enjoy the courtship of C. Fitzwilliam and Jane. It was mentioned but just glossed over which was a shame.

Narration: Harry Frost was great as always. I wasn’t a huge fan of Elizabeth Grace voicing the female parts. It wasn’t that she was bad, but it distracted from the story somewhat with the change of voices and the very noticeable change of audio quality. I much prefer one narrator that does everything and having heard Harry do the female parts in other stories, I would have liked it if he had read them in this book too.

A gentleman honor

Very disappointing, the voices didn’t help. Please don’t do ones like this anymore, it’s too hard to listen to the end.
