The battle for freedom has begun. For a handful of reluctant heroes, it's a chance to retake their world. Much has changed since the fall of civilization. Forced underground, the oppressed remnants of humanity struggle to survive. It's a bleak existence, but things are in motion that could shatter the system of tyranny.

When Crow set out to survive, he never imagined the world he would find. He and his band of survivors crossed the wastelands in search of a new home. They found GUC instead. A cyberpunk city filled with new dangers they could barely imagine. Beneath their feet, humans are little more than prisoners scraping out what they can under the illusion of protection. It was supposed to be a fresh start. A chance to become more than their miserable existence allowed.

In a human lab behind locked doors and bulletproof glass, a group of scientists works on a covert project. They keep from forming personal contacts and even avoid knowing each other’s names. Together they refine the virus set loose on the world. The goal is simple: eliminate all creatures. In a bar hidden from human sight, a secret meeting reveals a startling reality: a mysterious illness is killing creatures. All creatures with genetic markers are falling ill, and many of them are dying.

The world died the day the power grid failed. Civilizations crumbled and life ground to a halt. Those who survived the transition became something else. Two years have passed since the lights went out. Crow and his small group of survivors have done their best to forage supplies and live off the land, but danger looms in every shadow.
