Arthur Mitchell, the first Black principal dancer at the New York City Ballet, takes his protest to the stage and establishes the Dance Theatre of Harlem. This is a book about ballet, the enduring allure of ballet for young girls, and about how these pioneers broke into a world that was closed to them and changed ideas of what a classical dancer could be.

Recognizing the child would need early intervention, she sets out to find the best services available only to discover such services were non-existent in her community. Facing overwhelming odds, she and another mother venture out in faith to provide the educational and therapeutic services their children need and in the process the author discovers a deeper grasp of God's intimate love and a greater awareness of His miracle working power.
