This is a story of Nandini and Bhaskar, a prosperous middle-aged couple leading a good, meaningful, and successful life. Independent yet emotionally involved, this couple goes to a sea-side resort to enjoy an undisturbed vacation. Nandini advertently comments on one of her past experiences. Bhaskar is stunned by that, yet is steady. Nadini, also, is not perturbed. This is one of the favorite stories of Jim Corbett himself. The Thak man-eater was a female Bengal tiger who killed and ate four human victims (two women, two men) between September and November 1938. She was operating in Kumaon, at the Nepalese border, between the villages Thak, Chuka, Kot Kindri and Sem. This was the last man-eater killed by Corbett. The story about Thak man-eater is known as one of the most dramatic stories about man-eating animals.

The tigers of Chowghad were a man-eating Bengal tigress and her sub-adult cub, which for over a five-year period killed a reported 64 people in eastern Kumaon over an area spanning 1,500 square miles (3,900 square km). The tigress was attacking humans initially alone, but later she was assisted by her sub-adult cub. This is a story of a terrible man-eating tigress who had maximum number of preys on her name.

A well-known hunter, environment conservationist Jim Corbett was known throughout the world for killing man eating leopards and tigers. The story talks about his favorite hunting companion Robin, his faithful spaniel dog, who was trained to accompany Jim Corbett during hunts of man-eating tigers. Robin assisted Jim almost in all the major hunts in various ways. However in one incidence Robin himself was in trouble.
