This chapbook of poetry is many things. A text which paints the triumphs and struggles of love. A manual on the inner workings of the miraculous. A journal detailing the longings of the heart. The authentic prayers of a seeker of the unfathomable. Yet, in its purest essence, it is nothing less than a teaching. A way the listener is able to glean from the experience of the writer and find their way when times feel most challenging. I hope others learn as much from this audiobook as I have learned in writing it. And may blessings shower us all on our long journeys home.

When the ruler of Cuba stepped down in 2018, the Cuban people led by Javier Hernandez started a revolution. Javier's beloved wife was publicly assassinated by an unidentified sniper while peacefully protesting. Her death led to worldwide outrage and ultimately the United States backing the revolution. With the help of the US military, the rebels were successful. The Cuban people were led to believe that the US military would only occupy Cuba for a one year reconstruction period. Several years have now passed, and the US military presence has increased to the point of martial law.

Alicia believes that her marriage with husband Arlington is a fairytale come true - until Alicia is confronted by Piper, a woman who claims to be her husband's girlfriend. Alicia lets her emotions get the best of her and yields to the opinions of her friends Cassie and Myra instead of answers from her husband. Little did Alicia know Cassie's advice was jaded by her own emotional issues of a lost love, while Myra is not emotionally available and hides behind her religious beliefs.
