The chance of a lifetime started with a gift. An inheritance of the Old Farmstead outside of the town of Summer Shandy. It’s overgrown, overrun, and filled with field monsters and in a bad need of a tilling. But it’s something, it’s a start, and for Jason Hunter, that’s all he needs. And all his uncle wanted for him. A year has passed in the town of Summer Shandy. The farmstead outside of town isn't quite as run-down as it used to be. The fields still need to be tended, the monsters still need to be handled, and the soil will always need a tilling. That's life. And for Jason Hunter, it's a good one. At least it would be if it wasn't for those out-of-towners.

For the last 20 years, Cid has served the realm as a city guard. One thing has driven him forward. A suggestion by a friend. His eventual pension and what he plans to do with it. A purchase. Specifically in the village of Haven and the plot of land reserved by the Kingdom.

Cid, a seasoned city guard for the past 20 years, has traded in his sword for a fishing rod and a peaceful life as a farmer in the charming and cozy village of Haven. Surrounded by former battlemages and their families, Cid finds himself drawn into the local community's struggles and triumphs, including the occasional misuse of magic and a wee bit of revelry.

Jason has done a good job of settling into his new life. But nothing stays the same forever. Not even in Summer Shandy. His fourth year on the farm comes with a new challenge. Married life.
