New Orleans, 1919. As a dark serial killer - The Axeman - stalks the city, three individuals set out to unmask him. Ida has never met the victim, but her name has been found at the crime scene and the LAPD wants to know why.

Staying overnight in the local village pub, Samuel is warned not to spend too much time there.
