In 1970, a couple years after returning from Vietnam, I wrote my first poem, then quickly destroyed it. The poem was about my father. Years later, I regretted it and wrote a eulogy that begins this collection. The book begins with poems that anyone would enjoy. In 1983, PTSD emerged, and Vietnam became the centerpiece of my thoughts and my script.

Survivors trapped in a sunken vessel find themselves hunted through the depths by a deadly adversary. A skeptical journalist discovers the sinister inhabitants of a fake haunted house are all too real. And a husband commits murder to protect his wife, only to learn he has created something even more dangerous....

My Way With Words is reamed from decades of jotted thoughts and poems. Jotted thoughts are easily understood, but jotted poems I believe in my case deserves an explanation. Many of my poems were completed beginning to end with no changes between or very little editing and that includes a few longer poems.
