Es läuft nicht gut für Aiden. Vor Kurzem war er noch ein erfolgreicher Anwalt, mit einem schicken Apartment im East Village und einer glamourösen Verlobten. Dass ihr neuer Auftraggeber ihr gleich einen ordentlichen Vorschuss zahlt, findet sie ungewöhnlich, aber normal ist an diesem Job ja sowieso nichts.

Wanda und Aiden sind überzeugt davon, denn sie haben gerade erst erfahren, dass sie über besondere Talente verfügen, von denen Normalsterbliche nichts ahnen. Und sie haben erkannt, dass diese Talente nicht nur Gutes bewirken können – genau wie die konkurrierenden Gruppen, die Menschen wie Wanda und Aiden an sich binden wollen. Ausgerechnet jetzt hat Wanda das Gefühl, ihre Begabung nicht mehr unter Kontrolle zu haben. Und Aiden gerät in den Fokus eines ganz speziellen Experimentes.

She finds it unusual that her new client pays her a decent advance right away, but there's nothing normal about this job anyway. Actually, Aiden and Wanda live in completely different worlds. In fact, they wouldn't meet. But both sense that secrets are lurking behind the facade of the gray city, where the weather is constantly going crazy.
