Somewhere in our antediluvian past, mankind both technologically and socially surged forward in a single leap. Going from being hunter-gatherers to city dwellers and inventors, we intellectually bloomed in a second of historical time. For millions of years, we as a species saw little change, but around the time primitive men began drawing pictures in caves depicting aliens, flying machines, and spacecraft, suddenly everything changed, and man began to invent, create, build, and imagine a future. Synchronicity of these events cannot go unnoticed.

On August 20, 1619, about 20 Angolans arrived in the British colony of Virginia. They were brought directly to the settlement of Jamestown. There, they were bought or traded for supplies. The English colonists were more than happy to oblige the pirates, who had stolen the slaves from a Portuguese slave ship. Thus was the corruption and greed surrounding the human trafficking that was the slave trade.
