The Mabinogion is a collection of tales, told over generations, recorded in two manuscripts; Llyfr Coch Hergest ( The Red Book of Hergest) and Llyfr Gwyn Rhydderch ( The White Book of Rhydderch). Translated into English by Lady Charlotte Guest, they contain a large number of tales from the Welsh storytelling tradition.

Nathan Hobbs, a one-time US navy captain dismissed for being drunk on duty and now the captain of a container ship, finds himself in serious trouble. Unless he can pay his gambling debts, he is liable to lose his fingers. Given this, when offered a large sum of money to accept two containers on his ship, Nathan is only too willing to agree. To his shock and horror, he later finds he has jumped from the frying pan into the fire. He has become the unwilling accomplice in a terrorist plot targeting America.

After obtaining a married status contract in 1989, I worked on a five-star hotel project down on the Turkish Mediterranean Coast. Here, due to my wife and I loving both the people and area, we bought some land with a Turkish friend and had a house built. This turned out to be a major change in our lives, with our moving from our home in Plymouth to live in the Turkish countryside, just a short distance from what is now the resort town of Kemer. This move proved an excellent one, as we enjoyed many happy years among friendly people.

Three friends had been out enjoying a sightseeing plane trip. They were happy and carefree as they were about to pass over the mountain above their town nestling down in the valley. A gently bubbling creek ran through the centre of it. On each side of its banks were a variety of timber-built summer homes and cabins. It looked and was a peaceful town of around 350 inhabitants. As they woke that morning, no one knew that high above them a terrifying plane crash would result in most of them able to live and enjoy another day.

Following the foiled attempt to blow up the Golden Gate Bridge, the president tasks Jeff Stone with uncovering who was behind it. The prime suspect is Iran, whose economy has suffered after the US placed sanctions on it. Stone, head of the country’s top-secret antiterror organization, flies with a colleague, George, to Panama to investigate two containers loaded with rocket launchers that may be connected to the Golden Gate Bridge attack.

When Jeff hears that his brother died in police custody in Yemen, a country racked by civil war, he flies looking for answers. However, he soon finds himself involved in a plot to assassinate the self-proclaimed president. It seems he is a threat not only to his own country but also to world peace.

This history is based on the recent coup attempt in Turkey on July 15, 2016, and an English family's frightening holiday experience during this time.
