With the debut of Induction, we discovered that Stephen came to college in the hopes of learning the skills needed to fuel a lucrative career. Never did he imagine he would make such good friends. However, he discovers all wasn't as it seemed and his new friends weren't quite as human as they appeared to be. After his near fatal introduction to the hidden supernatural world of the Shroud, Stephen struggles with this new knowledge as well as the new abilities within himself.

Stephen is a young man from a small town adjusting to college life on a crowded campus. With a sometimes crippling social anxiety disorder, he is a consummate loner in a sea of humanity. After unexpectedly making friends with his roommate and others, he finds himself enjoying both his education and his new social life. All is not what it seems, though, as his new friends are more than human. They know his anxiety is much more than it seems and that it makes him a target of sinister forces.
