Where is the COVID Relief Bill???
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN: To the surprise of absolutely no one, an agreement has not been reached. There are a lot of reasons for this. One is simply politics. Where each side doesn’t want the other to be seen as successful or at this point competent. And this goes hand in hand with the Presidential election. It's fair to say that the two parts would fight aggressively on a relief bill, but the seen is very different then it was back in March when a bill was passed. The economy is in worse shape then March, so is unemployment, the school situation, and the list goes on.
A major difference between now and March is that we are 90 days out from the presidential election. Don’t get me wrong, I think the infighting would be a thing no matter what. But it seems heightened because the election is so close.
Then there is where should the money go, how much do people get, and what is fair. It’s safe to say the party will never see eye to eye. And they will both have to give in order to receive. That is as close to a fact as you are going to get. Especially when the House and Senate are split on party lines. But with all that being said and everyone understanding they will have to give, why is this taking so long. I’m sure an expert who has studied the economy. Party philosophy can have a pretty clear idea of what the relief bill will look like. So why is this taking so long? The delay is only hurting the American people.
And that is the issue at the end of the day. Average, normal Americans are suffering because the politicians couldn’t or wouldn’t foresee there own disagreements and understand they were going to come together at the end anyway.
