    Apr 18 2024

My name is Lexy. I grew up in Iowa, was a softball pitcher for Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD where I graduated from college, and met my husband in Des Moines, IA as we both moved there after college for work. We got married during the pandemic which ended up allowing us to work from anywhere so we chose La Crosse, WI as it was a middle ground for our families.

We have two beautiful little girls earth-side and one boy in heaven. Naomi is 2.5 years old and Hazel just turned 5 months! We lost Jethro at 16 weeks gestation back in October 2023.

I stay at home with my kids currently. We love to be outside, go to parks, and sing lots of songs! It is the hardest job I’ve ever had, and also the most rewarding and important to me.

Outside of being a wife and mom, I love to hangout with friends, be creative with projects, go on walks, and workout.

As a family, we love to travel and go on hikes! That love is a little slower paced with having two little kids, but someday will pick back up again. We do have some awesome dance parties right now as well.

If I could treat myself right now, I would hands down get a massage!!

    Mar 21 2024

This week i am joined by Dr. Emily Johnson (formerly Alsheskie), who is a chiropractor in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She is the owner of Lux Chiropractic where she works in pain management and health maintenance. Has a passion for pediatric and prenatal care. She enjoys helping people live their best quality of life. Her passions also include fitness and nutrition so she incorporates that into her chiropractic practice. She said “I’m also a huge advocate for informed choices when it comes to raising healthy kids. I love to educate families and support their ‘voice’ to make their own health care decisions”.

Her son is 8 year old. Outside of being a mom she enjoys working out and says she is a junkie for the gym. She is big into quality time with her family so she enjoys doing fun getaways like water parks, bowling, going for a simple walk around the neighborhood.

In her own words “I also LOVE any sort of healthy activity – for example, recently my husband and I have been cold plunging. We do it in the wellness center that I work out of but we’ve also started meeting with a group of people to plunge in the river on the weekends and then we get coffee after. Super fun way to do healthful activities with like minded people. “

She also notes that her husband and her also enjoy hitting up the sauna and using red light and halotherapy to support their healthy bodies.

As a family they are busy with athletics – her son is big into hockey and he also plays baseball and soccer. So when they aren’t at sports activities they like to just hang out at home and watch movies together. They just recently moved into their home so it feels nice to unwind and enjoy each other’s company.

When asked what her favorite way to treat herself is she said “I LOVE treating myself. I am incredibly consistent with my self care. I love massages and getting my nails done. Every so often I’ll schedule a couple hours at the spa but my husband and I like to exchange taking care of each other as well. We do things like facial cupping on each other for some natural wrinkle management and lymph movement .
