  • Case 169: La Laurie Mansion New Orleans
    Jan 16 2025

Welcome to the True Hauntings Podcast with Anne and Renata

“Allow me to quote the facts to you, because you could not believe them if they were not confirmed to you by sufficient authority…

I never saw a more horrible spectacle!

The dislocated heads, the legs torn by the chains, the bodies streaked [with blood] from head to foot from whiplashes and sharp instruments…

when [the slaves] were discovered, they were already devoured by maggots.”

An excerpt from Carolyn Morrow Long’s book, Madame LaLaurie, Mistress of the Haunted House.

Situated at the corner of Royal Street and Governor Nicholls Street stands a notorious three-story antebellum mansion that has drawn the fascination of countless tourists, filmmakers, and even a Hollywood celebrity.

This stately Empire-style residence, located at 1140 Royal Street in New Orleans, was once the home of Delphine Macarty LaLaurie.

Widely regarded as one of the most haunted sites in the city, the mansion's dark history is tied to its infamous owner, a wealthy socialite described as a "demon in the guise of a woman" for her alleged acts of horrific cruelty toward enslaved individuals during her time there.

In this episode we are putting in a warning that it will contain historic information regarding treatment of the enslaved that may be too disturbing for some people.

Please continue listening to this episode at your own discretion as we head to the French Quarter in New Orleans to gather information about the truth behind the stories of the infamous La Laurie Mansion and Madame Delphine.

Was she as despicable as history has us believe?

We hope you enjoy this episode and share it with your friends.

  • Case 168: Suvarnabhumi Airport Thailand - Haunted and Cursed Airport
    Jan 2 2025

    Welcome back to the podcast!

And a Happy New Year to you all.

We hope that you had a great Christmas and that things look bright for the next twelve months for you -

This episode takes you to a very haunted airport in Thailand and we try to find out why the legends of this airport freak out travellers!

Would you fly out of here?

A modern international airport is an unlikely setting for a ghost story.

Yet Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport is so over-run with ghosts that airport authorities have been forced to build special accommodation in an effort to please the spirits and prevent them from interfering with operations.

Stories from visitors and workers and even pilots have been recorded, all who have had high weirdness happen to them when flying in and out of this airport.

In this episode of the True Hauntings Podcast we are going to pack our bags and heading to Bangkok to explore more than the airport shopping galleries to find out why this place is so haunted.

    Let’s do this.

  • Case 165: The Red Onion Saloon Alaska - A bordello with flair!
    Nov 21 2024

If you were a prospector looking to make a fortune in gold in the late 1800’s, you needed to make a trip to the Klondike in Alaska.

Gold was discovered there by local miners in August 1896, and when news reached places such as Seattle and San Francisco one year later, it triggered an avalanche of men ready to try their luck.

During the Klondike Gold Rush an estimated 100,000 prospectors travelled to this region of the Yukon in north-western Canada in the last years of the 1800’s.

The Red Onion Saloon was one of many businesses that made enormous profits during this time, keeping their patrons entertained during those cold dark winters, and today it is known as one of the most haunted places in Alaska.

In this episode, we head north to Alaska to find out who or what is still haunting the Red Onion Saloon!

Maybe, it’s a Madam still keeping an eye out on her girls?

Maybe, it’s the ghost of a prospector who lost all of his money gambling at the card tables or got into a bar fight ?

So, you better rug up and pour yourself a stiff brandy as we tramp through the freezing snow to discover the secrets of one of the most haunted sites in Alaska.

  • Case 163: Clark Base Philippines - A Haunted Air Force Base
    Oct 24 2024

Hospitals are often considered gateways to the afterlife, and the Clark Air Base Hospital in Angeles City, Pampanga, is no exception.

With a reputation backed by hundreds of chilling ghost stories, this abandoned hospital is sure to send shivers down your spine.

Ghost Hunters International has even declared it “one of the most haunted places in the world,” known for its numerous documented ghost sightings—from violent, disembodied voices to eerie shadows that lurk in the corners, waiting to be seen.

Screams are often heard, as are dancing orbs of light. Voices in the empty building are also often heard, and there have been countless reports of apparitions seen walking or floating through the building, most bearing the scars of battle.

And in this episode of the True Hauntings Podcast we are going to the Philippines to explore the very haunted Clark Air Base which has such a frightening reputation that the National Geographic Channel created a docuseries about it.

It's called – I WOULDN’T GO IN THERE and features Urban explorer Robert Joe - or RJ as he tracks down true and often untold stories hidden behind Asia's most notoriously haunted sites.
