Episode 75 – Talking all things Pain with Veterinary Colleagues, Dr James Hunt and Dr Katie Smithers

In this episode, I have the absolute privilege and pleasure of chatting to Dr James Hunt and Dr Katie Smithers, both leading veterinarians when it comes to pain recognition and management in our pets.

We talk about the newest approaches to pain management and how being part of Canine Arthritis Management’s Telehealth team allows them to help more and more patients globally.

I have been using Telehealth in my Behaviour Practice for a number of years and seen the many benefits it brings to our patients and clients across the world.

Being able to support and help more caregivers and pet care professionals is just one of the many benefits and having time, being able to really listen, understanding the challenges that our clients face and being able to offer solutions and advice is among the most valuable work we can do!

    Mar 18 2025

Episode 74 – How to Administer Medications to our Pets

Giving tablets to our pets is not always easy, and cats especially are notoriously difficult to administer oral medication to!

The problem with not being able to give medication is that this may interfere with your pet’s medical care and have a detrimental effect on their physical or mental and emotional health.

One of the most important things I stress in this episode is to ask for help from your vet or pet care professional if you are struggling to give oral medication to your pet – there is usually a different solution out there so we can ensure your pet gets the treatment they need together!

In this episode, I share my Top 10 Tips for medication administration to help you easily and successfully give tablets to your pet.

Things you’ll learn in this episode:

    1. Why I dislike Pill Poppers so much!

    2. How to become a detective at finding a super high value food for your pet!

    3. How play and operant conditioning can help.

    …and so much more!
