  • Episode - 16 "Finding the Naad: A Spiritual Journey with Jelmar Manuel"
    Aug 29 2024

Welcome to Episode - 16 of our Podcast “Kundalini Awakening from Karma to Dharma”.

It's essential to maintain a sense of self-awareness and discernment. The spiritual journey, particularly in practices like Kundalini Yoga, can be profoundly transformative, but it's also filled with challenges and potential pitfalls. Being aware of your own motivations, and understanding whether you're seeking guidance or looking for someone to solve your problems for you, is crucial.

If you're considering a teacher training or entering into a deeper spiritual practice, it's important to approach it with a balance of openness and critical thinking. Trust in the process, but also trust in your intuition and inner wisdom. Recognize that while a teacher can provide valuable guidance and support, ultimately, the journey is yours to navigate.

It's about finding that balance—being receptive to learning while also retaining your autonomy. Each person's path is unique, and what works for one might not work for another. So, take the teachings, apply them, and see how they resonate with you personally, but never lose sight of your own inner compass.

Thank you for sharing this story, Jelmar, and for your honesty about the complexities of the teacher-student relationship in spiritual practices.

  • Episode - 15 "The Turning Point: Sigrid Van Tassel on Breaking Free and Finding Herself"
    Aug 8 2024

Welcome to Episode - 15 of our Podcast “Kundalini Awakening from Karma to Dharma”.

In this conversation, Sandesh welcomes Sigrid Van Tassel to his podcast. They met at a Kundalini Yoga event for Belgian and Dutch teachers. Sigrid shares her journey of working hard, burning out, finding a new path, and now helping others with what she's learned. She talks about the importance of community, or "Sangat," and how we can all learn from each other.

Sigrid then opens up about her life before discovering yoga. She describes how she used to live by what society expected—getting a diploma, a good job, and following a traditional path—but felt disconnected from herself. She tried to please others and fit in, which left her feeling empty and unhappy. Over time, she realized she was losing touch with who she really was, and this led her to seek change through yoga.

This wake-up call pushed Sigrid to take control of her life and follow her heart. She chose to pursue Kundalini Yoga, marking the beginning of her spiritual path toward self-growth and empowerment. Sandesh acknowledges how, as teachers, people often don’t see the struggles they’ve overcome to get where they are. Sigrid reflects on how she used to make decisions from her head, disconnected from her emotions, but Kundalini Yoga helped her reconnect with her true self.

  • Episode - 14 "The Power of Connection: Jasper’s Transition to Kundalini Yoga"
    Jul 25 2024

Welcome to Episode - 14 of our Podcast “Kundalini Awakening from Karma to Dharma”.

In this episode of the Kundalini Awakening podcast, Jasper shares his journey of trying out a strict vegetarian diet and giving up coffee and alcohol, driven by a dedication to Kundalini Yoga. However, he found that being too strict made him feel boxed in and realized he needed more balance. He prefers going with the flow and doing what feels right rather than sticking to rigid rules.

Jasper has been a physical therapist for 20 years, specializing in manual therapy and treating physical ailments. He grew frustrated with the limitations of traditional physical therapy, feeling it only provided temporary fixes. This led him to explore Kundalini Yoga and yoga coaching, which he found to be more fulfilling and effective for long-term healing. Now, he works in mental health and runs his own yoga business, enjoying the deeper connections and lasting impact on people's lives.

Reflecting on his career journey, Jasper admits he was uncertain at first, exploring different fields before settling on physical therapy due to his interest in the human body and helping people. Over time, he shifted from physical therapy to yoga because it allowed for more meaningful connections and a greater positive impact on his clients' lives.

  • Episode - 13 "Unmasking the True Self and The Healing Journey"
    Jul 14 2024

Welcome to Episode - 13 of our Podcast “Kundalini Awakening from Karma to Dharma”. In this episode of the Kundalini Awakening podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with Lesley Bal, who goes by her spiritual name, Atma Deva. Lesley recently completed the Kundalini yoga teacher training level one and has been radiating positivity ever since, capturing the attention of many, including myself. Lesley's journey on the yogic path began about ten years ago, though her love for dance and movement started much earlier, around the age of six. She fell in love with ballet and pursued it seriously until she was around 14. However, due to shyness and other interests as a teenager, she stopped dancing. Despite this, Lesley always remained active, participating in sports and eventually finding her way back to movement through yoga. Her journey was not without challenges. During her Kundalini teacher training, Lesley became pregnant, which was not planned and initially felt like an obstacle. However, she later realized that this experience helped her to let go of control and find peace within herself. She saw it as a necessary step to truly understand and embrace her own voice and strength. Our conversation was filled with insights and stories about Lesley's personal growth and transformation through yoga and life experiences. It was inspiring to hear how she navigated her path, embraced her true self, and now helps others do the same through her teaching.
