    Jun 21 2024
    Hello My Friends! Welcome Back!

This week I will start out by discussing a new plant of Interest, the very Beautiful Blue Lotus. Afterwards we will dive headfirst into some ideas from the ancient world. Natural Philosophy was Science's Grand Pappy, before we new what to call it. People who thought about the Earth, and natural processes, were such philosophers. Most notably, Socrates, Pythagoras, and Many other had ideas about why things happened in the world. After that we will enjoy together a sample of Lucretius's Text "On The Nature of Things". Translation by Frank O. Copley. I hope you enjoy!

  • 117: Science's Contributions to Mysticism
    Apr 7 2024
Hello my Friends! Welcome Back to "The Ginger Bread Man!"

This week I want to dig into Science a little bit. I spent alot of time being Staunchly anti-science, regrettably, that I have only recently returned to reading more scientific material. I have been reading a book called "The Tao of Physics" by Fritjof Capra, whom I unfortunately called 'Frank' in the episode because I am dumb. This and Sartre's Existential theories have made me very curious about the interconnections of East and West, Scientific Empericism and Mystic Subjectivism. And the interconnectedness of everything little thing in this whole thing. Man, am I excited.

The last half of the Episode, approximately 15 minutes in, I begin the last Chapter of Aldous Huxley's "Island", without any spoilers. This man has seriously impressed me, and I hope you enjoy my performance of this work that had an immense impact on me.

Hello my Friends! Welcome back to "The Ginger Bread Man!"

This week I will be discussing some older concepts from the show including how we have some degree of control over bodily processes, especially when it comes to slowing ourselves down and speeding ourselves up! This also ties into our interconnectedness with the rest of the world.

Towards the end of the show I share an excerpt from Aldous Huxley's Island, a profound book and concise way to tie up some of these ideas.
