    How do people with Diabetes live with this conditions? 🤔Is there a cure for Diabetes? 🤷‍♀️

    36% of people with diabetes experience diabetes distress; 63% of people with diabetes say that the fear of developing diabetes-related complications affects their well-being; 28% of people with diabetes find it hard to remain positive in relation to their condition.

    On the World Today, we are joined by Francois Pouwer, Professor in Health and Medical Psychology at the University of Southern Denmark. He is a psychologist who has mainly worked in the field of Diabetes.

    We discuss why people with Diabetes experience depression and anxiety disorders, and how these disorders affect people's quality of life. We also talked about such disorders can be a risk factor for the onset of Diabetes. We then discuss about the strategies that can be used to prevent the onset of such disorders and how psychologists can help people with diabetes to have a better quality of life.

    Do depression and anxiety affect the lives of people with heart conditions? 🤔Can we prevent, rather than cure, depression and anxiety in people with heart conditions? 🤷‍♀️

    Today, we are joined by Susanne Pedersen, Professor of Cardiology Psychology at the University of Southern Denmark. She is a psychologist who has mainly worked in the field of behavioural medicine, particularly the interface between cardiology and psychology.

    We discuss how depression and anxiety disorders affect people with heart conditions and how these disorders can further deteriorate people's quality of life. We then talk about the strategies that can be used to prevent the onset of such disorders and how psychologists can help people with heart conditions overcome any difficulties they might experience.

    Do behavioural change strategies work? 🤔Are health apps appropriate for people's needs? 🤷‍♀️

    Today, we are joined by Alessio Bricca, Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Denmark. He is an exercise physiologist with a PhD in health sciences, committed to understanding how to help patients with chronic conditions improve their physical activity using digital technology.

    We discuss whether behaviour change strategies in digital health interventions are effective. We then talk about all the apps that are available in the market for the management of chronic conditions.

    Today, we are joined by Thomas Bredahl, Associate Professor at the Department of Sports Science and Biomechanics, University of Southern Denmark.
