• UFC 303: Pereira vs. Procházka 2 Predictions plus PFL 6 Quick Thoughts
    Jun 27 2024

UFC 303 is finally here and while the card is completely unrecognizable from the Conor super card it was suppose to be but it's still pretty good. The main event is a rematch but should be fantastic, the co main of Lopes vs Ortega should be a violent action affair and for the MVP and Garry mob well they are fighting each other.

The PFL will set their Featherweight and Welterweight playoff bracket and while there isn't an individual fight that I am especially hyped for it's a decent selection of world class fighters.

    Let's break it down!

  • UFC Saudi Arabia Predictions Plus PFL 5 (And Bellator Kinda)
    Jun 23 2024

UFC Saudi Arabia is in the rear view mirror and Ikram Aliskerov has hit a hard wall for the moment.

PFL has another playoff bracket set and I'll give you my very very uninformed thoughts on the Bellator Card that I did not watch cause why are they counter programing the UFC?

  • UFC Saudi Arabia Predictions Plus PFL 4
    Jun 20 2024

The UFC heads to Saudi Arabia for the Sweet Saudi Money payday. Ironically after the initial card for Saudi Arabia was rejected, they put together a better one that mostly fell apart which does make me a chuckle a bit.

Still we have a good main event with Robert Whittaker one of the top 3 all time Middleweights vs up and comer Ikram Aliskerov, a host of prospects, a heavyweight banger between Alexander Volkov and Sergei Pavlovich and a ranked 205 fight between Johnny Walker and Volkan Oezdemir.

Also the PFL 205ers and 155ers are BACK for more season action.

  • UFC Vegas 93: Perez vs Taira Recap Plus PFL 4
    Jun 17 2024

The UFC offered a pretty weak card all things considered this week but such is the Apex. PFL set the Heavyweight and Women's Flyweight Playoffs. And a whole bunch of UFC matchmaking chaos.

  • UFC Vegas 93: Perez vs Taira Predictions Plus PFL 4
    Jun 13 2024

The UFC card this weekend is the most bizarre structure I've seen in awhile. 2 fighters on the main card haven't made their booked weights in 7+ years and one is taking this on short notice. Also for some reason, the number 12 ranked Flyweight is on the undercard. I'm not even complaining about quality as per normal with Apex cards but rather just what is the UFC doing?

But there are some bright spots. Some fights to look forward to. Oh and we also have some PFL fights but it's Heavyweight and Women's Flyweight which is still a pretty bad combo from the PFL.

  • UFC Louisville: Cannonier vs Imavov Recap and ONE Fighting 167 Thoughts
    Jun 10 2024

We had a busy weekend with UFC, ONE and PFL Europe cards. I didn't check out the PFL so no thoughts there but ONE had a stellar card (especially the kickboxing bouts) with of course the usual ONE controversy. And the UFC Louisville card started very slow but it did get to a fun run of fights near the end.

  • UFC Louisville: Cannonier vs Imavov Predictions
    Jun 6 2024

The UFC heads to Louisville for a top to bottom pretty good card. I have some concerns on the delta of a couple fights, ie they can be good or rather terrible and the odds are pretty even which way they tip. But when those fights deliver it's a rush.

In the main event, 40 year old Jared Cannonier looks to build on his best performance in wrecking Marvin Vettori against Nassourdine Imavov in a fight that should produce a legit contender for the belt.

  • UFC 302: Makhachev vs. Poirier Recap
    Jun 3 2024

UFC 302 was a bit of a dull affair but the main event ended things on a high note as Islam Makhachev defended his title in pretty dominant fashion and Dustin Poirier seems to be pondering retirement.

There were a couple of other good fights but the card was decision heavy and featured a number of fights that didn't really change in flow. You could watch the first minute or 2 and pretty much know how the rest of it went.

Editor note I said a judge scored the fight for Andre Lima when I was talking about the nonsense score for Mitch Raposo.

    Let's Unpack the Fights.
