The New Jersey Devils are back to practicing after a couple of days off. They also called up a few players from the Utica Comets including Nolan Foote. Sheldon Keefe was asked what is the team's identity after 21 games. I decided to incorporate my answer as well. Jim Montgomery was recently fired by the Boston Bruins. Honestly, I think the NHL has a head coaching problem.

The New Jersey Devils weren't able to pickup a third straight win while in Florida. They got shutout 4-0 by Andrei Vasilevskiy and the Tampa Bay Lightning. This is the third time that the Devils have been shutout this season. While the loss is disappointing, there might be a simple solution: more rest and practice time. The Devils' next game isn't until Thursday. These next few days might do wonders for them.

The New Jersey Devils defeated the Florida Panthers for the second time in three days. The game was once again a physical contest and New Jersey prevailed. Considering the fact that the Panthers are the defending champions and also first in the Atlantic, this was definitely a statement victory. Jesper Bratt recorded a hat trick and Stefan Noesen had another impressive outing.

I attended the New Jersey Devils' morning skate at Baptist Health IcePlex (Fort Lauderdale). They are set to play the Florida Panthers later tonight. The New Jersey Devils defeated the reining Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers 4-1. The Panthers are first in the Atlantic Division and were riding a seven-game winning streak entering this matchup. It wasn't easy, but the Devils were able to neutralize an aggressive Panthers team. The Devils will play the Panthers once again on Thursday and then travel to Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Armando Velez ( Locked On Panthers) accompanied me on today's episode to help preview the next couple of matchups between the New Jersey Devils and Florida Panthers. The Panthers are the defending Stanley Cup champions. So, this trip to the Sunshine State wont be a vacation for the Devils.
