  • 07. Recovery as Self-Care: Ashley’s Story
    Sep 10 2024

Ashley and I met to chat about her battle with booze—including how it started and why she left drinking in our past.

Her story reminds me a lot of some of my own experiences with alcohol. The way it creeps up on you, the self-loathing, the weird “gotta-drink-but-don’t-wanna” feeling…

And how do you eleven get out of it once you realize it might be an issue? Does it always take crashing and burning to realize you need help?

We can’t wait to have you hang out with us for this one!

    • Episode Extras:
    • Books by Thich Nhat Hanh, specifically The Miracle of Mindfulness (Ashley’s fave) and You Are Here (my fave)
    • Author rec from Ashley: Anne Lamott
    • App rec from Ashley: iamsober

  • 06: Taking Recovery One Day At A Time (ODAAT): Jeremy’s Story
    Jul 13 2024

I am so stoked to talk to Jeremy Webster, founder of ODAAT Apparel, entrepreneur, designer, father, and all-around good dude.

How does a person go from a problematic drinker to the owner of a recovery-celebrating clothing brand? Turns out Jeremy’s path covers A LOT of ground—literally and figuratively!

We talk about a ton of stuff, like Japan, fatherhood, dangerous secrets, the power of family, crazy coincidences (you won’t believe where his new office is located…), and clothing for a cause.

Thanks for coming to hang out with us!

  • 05. From “Monster” to Spartan: Dylan’s Story - Lights of Recovery Episode 5
    Apr 11 2024

    Guest: Dylan T. Rosenthal

I can’t believe it took until episode 5 to have a guy on the podcast! (It was worth the wait though you guys.)

Dylan and I chat about what it takes to get sober, the spiritual aspect of recovery, and the mental fortitude that goes into being a Spartan Race finisher (!!!) as well as a person in recovery.

This was a fun chat—I mean, they all are, but this one was a lot of fun. I am thrilled to share this episode with you guys.
