All the actors will be playing multiple roles. Remember that time in history and the killing of Trayvon Martin? In 2012, African-American playwright Joel P. King was immediately driven to put pen to paper. For him, it felt like we had gone backward in time. There was a lot of messaging going around, but Joel didn't feel like people were hearing what needed to be heard. Through this piece, Stand Your Ground aims to share other perspectives to enlighten and inspired change. Joel has written a film and a mini-series for this as well. This episode is historic for “Lights, Audio, Action!” as it is our first adaptation of a stage play. We are additionally proud to share the original work of this history-making Black man, Joel P. King. What’s more, we are showcasing the talent of local artists and creatives. Thanks to this partnership with the Missouri Film office, we continue to make a positive social and economic impact in our community.
