The Table Read is directed by Joel P. King and produced by Delilah Consuelo. The sound engineering was done by Sean Kilker and the production was made possible by Jade Harrell, the Director of On-Demand & Content Partnerships. The talented actors are Joel P. King, Black Pearl, Olivia Neil, Zion Harrell, Zachary Scott Clark, Terry Kendrick, Aidan Mays, Shane Rice, Stephanie Smith, Seglinda Fox, Michael Paplanus, Colin McLaughlin. All the actors will be playing multiple roles. Remember that time in history and the killing of Trayvon Martin? In 2012, African-American playwright Joel P. King was immediately driven to put pen to paper. For him, it felt like we had gone backward in time. There was a lot of messaging going around, but Joel didn't feel like people were hearing what needed to be heard. Through this piece, Stand Your Ground aims to share other perspectives to enlighten and inspired change. Joel has written a film and a mini-series for this as well. This episode is historic for “Lights, Audio, Action!” as it is our first adaptation of a stage play. We are additionally proud to share the original work of this history-making Black man, Joel P. King. What’s more, we are showcasing the talent of local artists and creatives. Thanks to this partnership with the Missouri Film office, we continue to make a positive social and economic impact in our community.
