Genesis 1:28 (NET) God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply! Fill the earth and subdue it! Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that moves on the ground.” And to Noah God also said, Genesis 9:1 (NET) “Then God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.” A set of instructions, a God given command in my opinion, Noah never really tried to carry out which leads me to my what is another possible reason for the tower of Babel being constructed, another reason in addition to what is stated at Genesis 10:10 (NET) The primary regions of his(NImrod) kingdom were Babel, Erech, Akkad, and Calneh in the land of Shinar. So for a time in biblical history Nimrod was actually favored by God Genesis 10:9 (NET) He was a mighty hunter before the Lord . (That is why it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord .”), until the building of the tower in one of his kingdoms of oversight, Babel. Genesis 11:9 (NET) The tower is referred to as the tower of Babel – because there in that kingdom the Lord confused the language of the entire world, and from there the Lord scattered them across the face of the entire earth. Genesis 11:4 (NET) Then they said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens so that we may make a name for ourselves. Otherwise we will be scattered across the face of the entire earth.” Genesis 11:9 (NET) That is why its name was called Babel – because there the Lord confused the language of the entire world, and from there the Lord scattered them across the face of the entire earth. This was just another perspective about the command given for our human civilization to cover our earth and how we are all connected as a species.
