  • IS IT ABOUT BEING GODLY? OR SOMETHING ELSE!-Louisiana’s New Ten Commandment Law
    Jun 24 2024
The oped article and link associated with it are based upon from the NEW YORK TIMES article Louisiana’s Ten Commandments Law Signals a Broader Christian Agenda Gov. Jeff Landry wants his state to be at the forefront of a national movement to advance legislation with a Christian worldview. Article link:https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/21/us/louisiana-ten-commandments-landry.html In this podcasters opinion, how does the state of Louisiana's new law align with what is attributed to Jesus Christ interpretation of the Mosaic Law code which began with the Ten Commandments? Before we dive into the words of Jesus according to the Gospel of Luke lets ask ourselves does it address ways of improving the lives of all who live in that state with regards food disparities, better employment opportunities, improved public school education and the nutritional needs of it children, address mass incarceration of minorities, it issue with homeless, etc? Basically how does it measure up to “love thy neighbor”! Love thy neighbor. What am I talking about? Lets now review an encounter Jesus Christ had with an individual who possessed the ability and power to make a difference in his community, an individual who at the time was actually obligated, since was of Jewish descent to live out loud the The Ten Commandments. At the end of this episode I’ll revisit the question:lets ask ourselves does address ways of improving the lives of all who live in that state with regards food disparities, better employment opportunities, improved public school education and the nutritional needs of it children, address mass incarceration of minorities, it issue with homeless, etc. Gospel of Luke 10.25-37.NET [25] Now an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus, saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” [26] He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you understand it?” [27] The expert answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.” [28] Jesus said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.” [29] But the expert, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” [30] Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beat him up, and went off, leaving him half dead. [31] Now by chance a priest was going down that road, but when he saw the injured man he passed by on the other side. [32] So too a Levite, when he came up to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. [33] But a Samaritan who was traveling came to where the injured man was, and when he saw him, he felt compassion for him. [34] He went up to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. [35] The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever else you spend, I will repay you when I come back this way.’ [36] Which of these three do you think became a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?” [37] The expert in religious law said, “The one who showed mercy to him.” So Jesus said to him, “Go and do the same.” Gospel of Luke 10.25-37.NET #Louisiana #new #tencommandment #law https://linktr.ee/morethanapoet #listen #like #follow #subscribe #comment #live #your #best #life #split #souls #in #transition #AlfredHarrelMorethanaPoet #no #matter #what #happens #I #win consistency #maintains #momentum

  • LANGUAGES & COMMUNICATION- An alternative view of the biblical creation account
    Jun 17 2024
SPIRITUAL PERSPECTIVE MONDAY (SPM) A God given directive, twice repeated, twice not followed, finally carried out by a biblical warrior and king when he surrendered to the will of his people that led to another divine intervention affecting our human languages. Genesis 1:28 (NET) God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply! Fill the earth and subdue it! Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that moves on the ground.” And to Noah God also said, Genesis 9:1 (NET) “Then God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.” A set of instructions, a God given command in my opinion, Noah never really tried to carry out which leads me to my what is another possible reason for the tower of Babel being constructed, another reason in addition to what is stated at Genesis 10:10 (NET) The primary regions of his(NImrod) kingdom were Babel, Erech, Akkad, and Calneh in the land of Shinar. So for a time in biblical history Nimrod was actually favored by God Genesis 10:9 (NET) He was a mighty hunter before the Lord . (That is why it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord .”), until the building of the tower in one of his kingdoms of oversight, Babel. Genesis 11:9 (NET) The tower is referred to as the tower of Babel – because there in that kingdom the Lord confused the language of the entire world, and from there the Lord scattered them across the face of the entire earth. Genesis 11:4 (NET) Then they said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens so that we may make a name for ourselves. Otherwise we will be scattered across the face of the entire earth.” Genesis 11:9 (NET) That is why its name was called Babel – because there the Lord confused the language of the entire world, and from there the Lord scattered them across the face of the entire earth. This was just another perspective about the command given for our human civilization to cover our earth and how we are all connected as a species.
