For 30 years, Stephanie's family have pursued justice for the actions that night. At this point, the Sedona police have demanded the victim's daughter not pursue contact with them. THE DAUGHTER OF A MURDER VICTIM! Appalling. Guys – I know, I’m a Domestic Violence & Toxic People Surviving Podcast – but, Nikki got on TikTok & rang out the call to so many of us. Her story is a story I want to tell. We should tell these stories, as horrid as the details and the result on Stacy’s family has been – we can learn from Stacy’s story. Yes, let’s say her name! Stacy Wasilishin. Survivors have a different view. We see things from experience. Stacy’s story tells the story of one of our fallen. One of the four per day who do not make it out. Four of us per day die at the actions of our partners. Guns, cars, hands…there are so many of us. I want to honor Stacy & her story. I want to appeal to you to support Nikki on this journey. Opening music: Juice WRLD Type Beat with Hook - Losing My Mind Welcome to our second Letter from a Listener, plus a listener question & a tease of our new podcast - Surviving Toxic People!

Hi, I’m Stephanie Thorn and welcome to my podcast, I miss her…stories of Domestic Violence and Coercive Control – Listener Episode 2, I’m excited for these topics...

I created this podcast as a way of healing myself, making myself whole again. How I pulled myself out of two abusive relationships.

First, I want you to know that this is a safe space. Free from judgement and scrutiny.
Second, I care about your mental health and healing. That is exactly what this podcast is all about.
Third, if you are currently in an abusive relationship, there are ways to get out & you must do that for your own healing journey to begin. You can’t heal in the same place that makes you sick.

I’d love to hear from some of you who would like to discuss this topic with me. Write to me at share.imissher@gmail.com. If you enjoy this podcast, I could use your help with my ratings. Your ratings help me be seen by those who need to hear.

    Sep 15 2023

Opening music: Juice WRLD Type Beat with Hook - Losing My Mind

Hi, I’m Stephanie Thorn and welcome to my podcast, I Miss Her…stories of Domestic Violence and Coercive Control – Episode 14 – the effects of DV on women, yes we are going there.

I created this podcast as a way of healing myself, making myself whole again. How I pulled myself out of two abusive relationships.

Beginning in September, we will change our format & part of our name. We want to reflect the current state of the podcast. It will evolve over time. I do not want to leave you hanging, so in September we will become I Miss Her…Surviving Toxic People. I want to help as many people as possible with my podcast. Through you sharing your needs and wants from this podcast, we’ve developed topics we believe will help you survive toxic people & begin to understand the effects these people have on us. The psychological, emotional & physical toil is immense. I want to help you objectively look at the people in your life. Create boundaries for healthy relationships. And to be that person who speaks truth to chaos.

I hope you will join me for the 2nd season of I Miss Her…surviving toxic people as we expand the I Miss Her content. We will have a few guests over the season, some that are close to me. I’m so excited and cannot wait to bring this content to you. I hope it helps just one of you. All my love to you guys, you make this labor of love a blessing.

Hello beautiful people & thank you for listening to my podcast. I hope it helps just one of you. I wanted to take a moment and apologize for my long absences between episodes. It’s been a busy summer! I will still release at least one podcast per month. Our new season will begin in the fall!! Make sure to listen…I’ll drop topic hints on my TikTok, maybe you’ll even meet one of my guests! Yes! Guests!

Thank you again for listening. For your emails. For your messages. Exciting things are coming!

Shame causes us to stay. It makes you feel horrible about yourself. If you come from a place of low self-esteem, like I do, shame makes you feel even more worthless. You do not dare reach out to someone because you fear you won’t have the ability to leave. You can’t risk it & you feel shame and likely guilt. If you add coercive control to this mix, shame can shape you into someone who is more easily controlled and manipulated. You feel worthless & with that, ashamed to reach out for help. • Episode 12 - The Enmeshed Family
    Jun 6 2023

Opening music: Juice WRLD Type Beat with Hook - Losing My Mind

Hello beautiful people & welcome to my podcast. I want to thank those of you who have reached out to me. I’ve met some pretty incredible people on this journey. I’m hoping you get to meet some of them soon!

HAPPY 2 YEARS NO CONTACT TO ME!!!!

I want to speak today on a subject I think a lot of us can at least relate to, an enmeshed family. I think this was the point Claire was trying to make in a previous podcast. I think this is what we were all trying to understand. From Claire & myself trying to explain it to your questions because we didn’t have sufficient words. I research. It is part of my healing journey.

I feel that I am an intelligent person with a logical mind. I needed to understand how and why I keep choosing people that do not love me. So, over the past 2 years, I’ve researched, I’ve read, I’ve listened, I’ve talked, I’ve accepted, I’ve made peace. That can be difficult if your mind works like mine & it has to understand. It is the very reason it took me so long to leave. It is hard to comprehend this level of abuse. It’s very difficult to wrap your mind around the fact that this person, that you care about, is purposefully trying to hurt you or harm you. It can be one of the longest stages of your healing & it has become a passion for me. I’m hoping it helps one person.

If you’d like to share your story, please email me at share.imissher@gmail.com.

Thank you for listening & stay safe! You are worth it!

    ~Steph
