  • Talking 'Bout My Generation
    Apr 3 2023

More than ever before the workforce consists of so many different generations than ever before as people live and work longer. Alongside that, HR has a huge task of ensuring that age discrimination and ageism is not prevalent in an organisation and in the UK this obligation is by law. On top of that, HR hold a responsibility to ensure that they create a people strategy and employee experience that attracts and retains talent across that broad demography. Adding in the challenges associated with the ‘Gen Z’ers and the fact the British government is urging that over-50s should ‘get off the golf course’ and return to work to help the UK tackle its labour shortage. Workforce demography is throwing all sorts of challenges at the HR/People Profession. But fear not, Hosting HR and our expert panel are here to help! Questions pitched such as… • The WHO report that 1 in 2 people are ageist against older people, what can HR do to combat ageism in the workplace? • Are demographic 'groups' (baby-boomers, Millennials, Gen Z etc) useful for HR, or do they inadvertently fuel ageism? • Are today’s young people (Gen Z’ers) the most challenging demographic group for businesses to attract and then retain? Panel: Lisa Haggar - Highly influential HR leader who has worked across numerous industries & ownership models. Popular with so many for her straight-talking, outspoken, no BS style. Lisa has been featured in countless publications, podcasts and speaking events. Lisa recently conducted a research project on young people with some interesting outcomes. Lucy Standing – Co-Founder of Brave Starts, a NFP offering community based career guidance and support for people over 50. Lucy is a Chartered Business Psychologist and her own mission in how to help those over 45 best utilise their time in the world of work. Lucy has been seen in parliament advising the government and ministers on a range of issues for the over-50s. Michael Easton – Michael is a global C-level HR practitioner who in the last few years has had a portfolio freelance career advising, consulting and supporting business and HR leaders on a range of matters and he also sits on the Advisory Boards at Brave Starts. Michael has developed award-winning people strategies and is fascinated by the multi-generational workforce and the matter of age and ageism in the workplace.

  • Neurodiversity, Works!
    Dec 8 2022

Embracing neurodiversity in the workplace has so many benefits and yet awareness is just not there. Well, in this Hosting HR show we are looking to change that.

Our wonderful panel explain why neurodiversity should be embraced in the workplace and give you the toolkit to make a positive difference to your organisation and the neurodivergent community.

    Your panel...

YOUR HOST & FOUNDER OF HR RECRUITMENT SOLUTIONS – “Having graduated with a History degree, I was persuaded into a career in recruitment having been applying to graduate schemes. Whilst I failed in securing a role on a graduate scheme, I was lucky enough to be offered a chance to become a trainee Recruitment Consultant in 2008. In 2011, I started to work exclusively with the HR profession. I have since recruited HR professionals for business in numerous countries from entry–level to C-Suite from start-ups to blue-chip multinationals.

I have a passion for the profession and how it helps businesses be successful and create great places to work. My curiosity and passion for HR was why I decided to set up Hosting HR to share ideas within the profession and to have a bit of fun doing it too. I recently moved to live by the sea in Devon, England with my wife, son and dog. I am a big football fan and support Newcastle United as well as playing regularly – if you look closely you might even see some Newcastle United paraphernalia in the background during the stream.”
