Last winter, 39-year-old Toniya Farmer, DPT, was in a race for her life — literally, speeding on her way in the car toward the nearest hospital while experiencing the kind of doomsday chest pain that surely signaled a heart attack.

On the phone with her was a 911 operator, who advised her at one point to pull over to the side of the road. But, as she recalled later, “I knew if I stopped driving, I would die. Jesus literally took the wheel.”

During this episode , we discussed leadership, relationships with staff and the importance of showing up when your people need you the most.

We discussed Reese’s experience as a child of a parent whose experienced a near death experience.

Reese Johnson is the youngest son of Naesha Parks. Just ten days after Reese was born, his mom became deathly ill. Reese is fourteen years old now, and loves to sing, act, and dance. He’s grateful for the opportunity to come on The Heart Matters Podcast and share.
