    Kat grew up in a small town where addiction was not talked about and hidden behind closed doors. After her Mother tragically passed from drinking and driving when she was 18 she realized that there was secret generational addiction on her maternal side. She never really thpught of herself as an addict herself because she did not drink everyday nor did it affect her life negatively. During the Pandemic she had someone threaten to leave her if she did not quit drinking. At first she got sober for someone else but now its for her. She is almost 3 years sober and has broken the generational cycle. She is a very strong and inspirational women.

    Kyle had an knee injury and was prescribed opiates. The doctors never educated him about how addictive the medication is and never helped him taper off. So eventually when the doctors ended his prescription he became so sick with withdrawals he turned to the streets to find the medication. He eventually after 8 years of heavy usage had a heart attack, which led him to sobriety.

He then fell into the crowd that liked to party. At first everything was good, he had gotten what he had been dreaming of friends and parties. Then addiction reared its ugly head, and he tells his story of how he found sobriety.

    Resources- Teen Challenge is a year long program that is actually for adults. It is only 1100 for the whole year and they help if you still need assistance with payment.

    1. Brittany loved someone in active addiction. Met him an the young age of 16, they hit it off right away and were together for years. They had their first child and split after a few years. After a few years they just could not be apart and got back together and had another child. She thought they were a happy family until her world cam crashing down.
