    Jorge Luis Borges se halla entre los escritores más relevantes del siglo XX. Sin embargo, sus
    claroscuros no son solo literarios. Escudado en una temprana ceguera hizo uso de un cáustico
    humor, aunque esa discapacidad lo marcó en forma indeleble y reflejada en sus obras.

    El “retrato” de Borges se apoya fuertemente en la interpretación según la cual, el drama
    principal fue su incapacidad para establecer relaciones duraderas con las mujeres, tal vez
    por una traumática experiencia en su iniciación sexual o, tal vez por su tan estrecha relación
    con su madre.
    Candidato eterno al Premio Nóbel, nunca logró obtenerlo. Enemigo acérrimo
    del gobierno justicialista, fue menospreciado al punto de decidir vivir y morir en el extranjero.
    Fue director de la Biblioteca Nacional, jerarquizando esa institución por años.
