E.4.11: On Making Space for Everyone

  • Summary

  • AJ Jones is an out and proud queer ultra trail runner from Oregon. They have been running for 16 years and living in New Mexico for 14. She started out running short distance and road running until competing in their first trail marathon. Placing third in her group and having trained on trails, it has been mostly trails ever since. AJ placed second in their first 50k ultra and is training for eight races this coming season, including their first 100 mile trail race. Look out for their progressive pride flag at race events as they try to increase queer visibility in the sport and advocate for gender inclusive races.
