#7: Bryant Ellis: Founder of The Adventure Challenge on How Failure is the Prerequisite to Success

  • Summary

  • Bryant Ellis is an entrepreneur, podcaster, and adventurer. Bryant is the Founder of the Adventure Challenge, which is a scratch-off book that reveals challenges filled with adventures.

The way it works is that you get to pick a challenge within the book, without really knowing what the challenge is, you scratch it off, and then complete the adventure with a loved one, and the rules are that you have to complete the challenge and there are no takebacks.

Over the span of just a few years, The Adventure Challenge went from a failed Kickstarter campaign to now generating a revenue of over $100MM. They’ve sold millions of books so far pushing people beyond their comfort zones to create amazing memories

In this episode we talk about:

    • The origin story behind the company
    • How Bryant designed and created the first version of the prototype
    • The idea generation process the company adopts to create adventures
    • Lessons from failures that eventually led to the success of the company
