    Andy Buchanan set a new National Record, running 2:06:22 at the Valencia Marathon, placing 16th overall. Izzi Batt-Doyle ran 2:22:59 for third all time, 8th in the race. Both qualify for next year’s Athletics World Championship in Tokyo.

    Izzi joins in early to chat about going for the Australian record and recaps her race, the pace planning involved and giving the race as an emotional tribute to her friend Bailey.

    Sebastian Sawe in his marathon debut won in a world leading time of 2:02:05, the 5th fastest of all time and second fastest debut ahead of the 5th-placed Olympian Deresa Galeta of Ethiopia and Daniel Mateko of Kenya. Megertu Alemu of Ethiopia won in 2:16:49, ahead of Stella Chesang setting the national record for Uganda and Tiruye Mesfin of Ethiopia.     Victorian 5000m State Championships Matt Buckell 13:49.46 Haftu Strintzos and Dale Carroll. Amy Robinson won the state title in 16:10.77 ahead of Sarah Klein and Georgia Hansen. AthsVic Results Hub

    Yuya Yoshida won the Fukuoka International Marathon in 2:05:16 in Japan, with Michael Marantelli was the best Australian in 2:21:02. Jack Rayner paced half way through to 62:57. Results
