Publisher's Summary

It begins with the discovery of a tattered letter in the attic....

A heart-tugging story of family secrets by the New York Times best-selling Australian author of The Things We Cannot Say and Before I Let You Go.

1959: Grace is a young mother with four children under four. All she ever wanted was to have a family of her own, but there are thoughts Grace cannot share with anyone in the months after childbirth. Instead she pours her deepest fears into the pages of a notebook, hiding them where she knows husband, Patrick, will never look. When Grace falls pregnant again, she turns to her sister, Maryanne, for help.

1996: When Beth's father, Patrick, is diagnosed with dementia, she and her siblings make the heart-wrenching decision to put him into care. As Beth is clearing the family home, she discovers a series of notes. Patrick's children grew up believing their mother died in a car accident, but these notes suggest something much darker may be true.

Truths I Never Told You is the unforgettable story of motherhood and marriage by Kelly Rimmer, author of Before I Let You Go and The Things We Cannot Say.

Touching and sweet

A lovely easy listen. Mostly predictable but with a twist at the end I never expected. I loved listening to this story and felt it really did express how many truly feel.

A book that will stay with you

This book made me laugh, filled me with love, but also broke my heart over and over again. I forgot how much I LOVE Kelly Rimmer and this is one of her best! The reading is slightly robotic with an effort of clear pronunciation, but the story is so extraordinarily beautiful, it’s easy to get lost in it.

A past generation that fought for better understanding for women

Great narration and story of what the past generation of women endured and fought for to make it better for women today to understand childbirth/postnatal depression is real, treatable and not their fault.

Great book, not the best narrator

Really enjoyed the story, didn’t like the narrator but the story kept me intrigued to continue listening.

Beautifully written and read

A story of a not talked about condition that many women suffer from and as the story explains was very much blamed on the woman being a bad mother. Very glad that it no has a name and that it’s not something to be ashamed of. Well worth listening too.
