About this listen
Discover how to tap in to your extraordinary human capacity for connection and healing using astonishing new findings about the miraculous power of group intention and its boomerang effect in this new book by the author of the international best sellers The Intention Experiment and The Field.
What we send out into the universe comes back to us magnified. Although the power of intention - the energy of positive thoughts - is widely accepted as an influential force in transforming lives, the exponential power of group intention has never been explored - until now.
In The Power of Eight, Lynne McTaggart, an expert on the science of spirituality, reveals her remarkable findings from 10 years of experiments about how group intention can heal our lives - and change the world for the better. When individuals in a group focus their intention together on a single target, a powerful collective dynamic emerges that can heal longstanding conditions, mend fractured relationships, lower violence, and even rekindle life purpose. But the greatest untold truth of all is that group intention has a mirror effect, not only affecting the recipient but also reflecting back on the senders.
Drawing on hundreds of case studies, the latest brain research, and dozens of McTaggart's own university studies, The Power of Eight provides solid evidence showing that there is such a thing as a collective consciousness. Now you can learn to use it and unleash the power you hold inside of you to heal your own life, with help from this riveting, highly accessible new book.

Such a powerful concept. Very inspired to become involved now too.
Liked the data presented to substantiate findings. May be too much detail and drawn out??

Story? Narration? Crux? Practicality? Accessibilty
I am trying to listen to this book. I love the concept, though I'm having similar issues as other readers.
Do you enjoy hearing about the construction of scientific experiments dictated with emphasis on statistical methodologies and what went wrong with the technology? Add in the "growly" tone that sounds like an aggressive robot has taken over the narrator's body at the start of sentences. It is truly bizarre. Her voice other than that is so lovely, which is what makes it more disorienting.
Some of us know intuition works and want to focus on that. We don't need the science, useful as it is. It's tiresome to be in a world where any mention of intuition requires an in depth discussion on whether it exists. The other thing is, stories work. They sit with people. Statistics - not so much.
Also - what's the point? This process needs to be accessible to people. I notice on the website that there are weekly intention groups where people are required to list their name, photo, medical condition. These are published publically - if the person is chosen. Now maybe it's too much to ask for the author to be responsible for a network of intention makers rather than a testimonial focus.
I'd like to see a readily accessible group which focuses on broader aspects than healing medical conditions. E.g. some blockage in someone's life. I also think that this should be more accessible that a lottery-like system. This would be a power of eight. Right now it's a roboty idea of eight to me. Fingers crossed it gets better.

Need a better narrator
Honestly this book would be more pleasant t I'm listen to with a better narrator. I had to stop a few times as I couldn't stand how she narrated with fast pace at tef beginning of every sentence to emphasis it (maybe) then slower towards the end of the sentence. It literally the same tone every sentence it's so annoying. Sorry

Love the concept, but unnecessarily repetitive.
This entire book is literally a collection of case studies proving the same concept; the power of intention is real, works miracles & is scientifically sound. I was convinced after the first few examples, & then it just became repetitive. Had to listen at double speed to move it along. Too much mind & not enough heart exploration. There is a very short chapter at the end on how to hold your own intention circles, which was valuable, but could have been expanded. Generally recommend for those who still need proof & convincing on this subject.

bad narrator
I love Lynn Mctaggart and have thoroughly enjoyed her other books narrated by herself.
This book is narrated by so by someone else, probably better suited to reading fiction. I've tried several times to listen to this book but I give up, she's infuriating to listen to!

Unpleasant narrator voice
The subject of The Power of 8 and the studies described, are fascinating. Unfortunately the narrators voice, whilst mostly quite smooth, often drifts into a rather unpleasant guttural, squaky tone, making this audiobook annoying and difficult to listen to.
