Then, on a March night, a storm rages near the coast of northeastern Massachusetts. Alex sits alone in an old farmhouse she inherited. The lights are out because of the storm; then, an unexpected knock at the door. When Alex opens it, her beautiful younger sister stands before her. Riley has long been estranged from their family, prompting Colleen to hire the private investigator from whom they’d been awaiting news.
After her mysterious visitation, Alex and Colleen are determined to reconcile with Riley and to face their painful past.

Family life is not always a bed of roses
I loved this book. Full of a variety of emotions and real-life experiences which pull the reader every which way. The characters were believable, eg their reactions and thought patterns throughout the story. Highly recommended.

I couldn’t stop listening
Strong storyline, good linking between characters and a heart felt plot. Highly recommended for those who live a family/life story

Poignant story
A beautifully written story that takes the reader through a realistic journey of this family struggles to overcome, learn from, and move on from the effects of untreated depression. Especially poignant for me, having my own similar life journey.

Good for younger audience
Characters v self absorbed. V predictable overall & tho the continued pathos was poss appropriate to the subject matter, I personally found it too much. Poss a younger audience would enjoy this book more.
