Publisher's Summary
Winner of the 2019 Odyssey Award
Winner of the 2019 Audie Award for Young Adult Audiobook
An innovative audiobook production featuring more than 30 voices, Sadie explores the depth of a sister's love - poised to be the next story listeners won't be able to pause.
A missing girl on a journey of revenge and a Serial-like podcast following the clues she's left behind.
Sadie hasn't had an easy life. Growing up on her own, she's been raising her sister, Mattie, in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water.
But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie's entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister's killer to justice and hits the road following a few meager clues to find him.
When West McCray - a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in America - overhears Sadie's story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl. He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie's journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it's too late.
Courtney Summers' Sadie is propulsive and harrowing and will keep listeners riveted until the last track.
Critic Reviews
"A haunting, gut-wrenching, and relentlessly compelling read. Sadie grabs you and won't let you go until you've borne witness." (Veronica Roth, number-one New York Times best-selling author of Carve the Mark and the Divergent series)
"An electrifying thriller, taut as a bowstring. A coming-of-age tale, both gritty and sensitive. A poignant drama of love and loss. This - all this - is Sadie: a novel for readers of any age, and a character as indelible as a scar. Flat-out dazzling." (A.J. Finn, number-one New York Times best-selling author of The Woman in the Window)
"Courtney Summers's powerful story of love, neglect, abuse, and revenge is narrated with irresistible urgency by Rebecca Soler and Dan Bittner, along with an ensemble of supporting narrators...this is a production that will not be forgotten." (AudioFile Magazine, Earphones Award Winner)

Fantastic but tough subject
Another fantastic novel from Courtney Summers who never disappoints. This one makes the reader uncomfortable with this tough themes but it’s an engaging read.

Heartbreaking and important read
Amazing writing but utterly HEARTBREAKING - it’s devastating that such evil exists. The love and protection Sadie has for her sister is palpable through Summers’ writing. Not for the faint hearted.

Very Moving
I was recommended this by a YouTuber, however It was deep and disturbing just like the real things that happen in this. I didn't feel relieved though at the end. it's sad all the way through. It did though keep me wanting to finish it I didn't stop listening until I finished it. Very captivating and real.

Thoroughly enjoyed it
This is the first audio book I have ever listened to, and I feel like it has set a high standard. I enjoyed the plot, the characters and I loved the ending. It felt very atmospheric. I loved the character of Sadie who was narrated perfectly. My only criticism us that some of the smaller parts sounded monotone and brought me out the the story.

Sadie
This audio production was superb. As the story evolved I had goosebumps and literally could not stop listening.
My only criticism is that I would have loved an epilogue.
