Publisher's Summary
Fifteen million Americans a year are plagued with alcoholism. Five million of them are women. Many of them, like Caroline Knapp, started in their early teens and began to use alcohol as "liquid armor", a way to protect themselves against the difficult realities of life. In this extraordinarily candid and revealing memoir, Knapp offers important insights not only about alcoholism, but about life itself and how we learn to cope with it.

Great Read for Early Sobriety
What a good way to spend those nights when I couldn’t quite get to sleep in my first days of quitting. Lovely voice for narration and so much to relate to.

A compelling insight into alcoholism
Caroline’s story draws you in: surprising you with the prevalence of functional alcoholism. It’s interesting, relatable, hopeful and most importantly provokes a compassionate insight into the world of pain so many live in each day.

Pretty Good
I absolutely loved the narrator who brought this story alive. The story itself I for the most part enjoyed but found it disjointed and the timeline confusing at times. I am not sure I liked the author but at least she was honest.
